  Unfortunately I cannot post the counts (yes/no) per community as their are Urban Area Ballot boxes yet to be counted, and members having an opportunity to Vote in other communities. I will update again Very soon with the next batch of Communities who had their Ballot Boxes counted.

Hello Everyone,

The polls have closed today and counting will begin tomorrow after all the ballot boxes have arrived from the polling stations.

Results will be announced once the counting is finished. Ratification officers and authorized scrutinizers will be on hand to observe the count.

Tomorrow is the vote and a big day for St'åt'imc!

Tonight we are happy to announce the "People's Choice" winner of our recent Facebook contest. The proud new owner of the iPad is... Donna James of T'it'qet!

Donna wrote an inspiring message that most of you picked as one of your favourites, from 15 incredible entries. 

1st place: WORK TOGETHER TO BECOME EXCEPTIONALLY GREAT

My vision for St'at'imc people is that we will work together to be self-sufficient, educated, confident, balanced and always moving forward within and beyond St'at'imc Territory. My belief is that we were brought into this world to make it a better place. I believe we must stop negative thinking and habits and practice ways to be positive and confident.  

We are a multi-generational people who takes care of each other at the community/nation level; thus I believe we have the capability to be an extraordinary example to the rest of the world that it is possible to practice a way of life that is healthy, holistic and prosperous in good ways. 

We will become prominently known as strong visionaries, leaders and people who have overcome hardships. We will teach our children values and characteristics that will make them ideally influential, confident and valued members of society. We will no longer sit and wait for others to act first, wait for jobs, wait for opportunities and/or more resources; rather we will be innovative, resourceful and encouraging, taking action to nourish entrepreneurial creativity and enhance our lives forever more. Everyone has a role to fulfill it is up to all of us to manage ourselves and work together to become exceptionally great.

Now we weren't planning on giving away a second prize, but there is an entry that deserves to be acknowledged as well. Two more votes and we would have had a tie here! 

We've decided to give our office HD video camera, to Jen Narcisse & Bren Joseph of Xaxl'ip. (We thought given their video submission, this prize would be put to good use!)

2nd place: MY VISION: PEACE & PROSPERITY

 The heartbeat of the land is pulsating through our bodies... turn that beat into living, breathing, believing, rather than into a ticking time bomb... this video shares the Vision of a young couple who will not be pulled in any other direction but one that is towards solutions, peace and opportunity ...: "We're coming back, coming strong... Because it's the only way we know to carry on". 

This video shows how we are coming back, strong, ready and not needing to seek help anywhere but inside ourselves. Hope is the key theme here as well as inner peace. We can't speak for everyone but our Elders stories, Papa's (Angus Doss) stories were about positivity, respect, love and freedom. Everybody has the freedom of choice. Learn about the Hydro Agreement and make your own informed vote; nobody knows your wants and needs better then you. This vision is what we would like to see for our People. It's what we pray for.
