The St'at'imc and BC Hydro held an Annual Operations meeting on Tuesday April 17.
The meeting was well attended by St'at'imc leadership and BC Hydro employees.
The day was full of presentations from both the St'a'timc and BC Hydro. Larry Casper started the day with a general overview of progress to-date from the St'at'imc side, followed by a few BC Hydro updates on BC Hydro's procurement strategy, an update on the LaJoie and Bridge Systems, planned maintenance, Water Use Plan program and contracting, and some discussion around the opportunities for the St'at'imc on BC Hydro projects in the territory.
The meeting broke for lunch and attendees were treated to a delicious meal of local foods. Door prizes were also awarded throughout the day
After lunch there was another update from the St'at'imc on the Labour Market Study that is underway, with some great questions and comments from meeting attendees. This was followed by presentations from BC Hydro on planning future projects, distribution engineering, vegetation management and other BC Hydro programs.
This Annual Operations meeting is to be held every year, as BC Hydro is bound by the agreement to report on their activities in the territory and discuss the opportunities they are making available to the communities.
