Training Course Opportunity: Introduction to Fisheries Analysis

This training course is being offered to St’át’imc technicians who wish to enhance their fisheries skills via analysis of data sets that are presently being collected by SGS and SER. This guided self-study course complements on-going field work and technician training. It has been designed to provide an introduction to data analysis and reporting.

There is space available for 5 trainees. In the event that there is high demand, additional training courses will be offered later in 2014.

The course will take place at the St’át’imc Government Services office on 6 successive Fridays between May 2 - June 6.

Topics to be covered:

1.    Data analysis - use of Excel for analysis and graphing of fish data

2.    Communications - enhancement of verbal and written communication skills

3.    Introduction to environmental assessment

Pre-requisite:

Some familiarity with MS Excel

Equipment:

Most of the class exercises rely on MS Office. If you don't own a computer, a desk-top will be available for your use.
